Surge: A Geography of Flow

Museum of Northwest Art, La Conner, WA - To Jan 10, 2027

by Lissa Robinson

This triennial exhibition pairs regional creators with climate scientists to examine how environmental shifts reshape communities. Inspired by peer-reviewed research and recent local flooding, the collaborative installations dive deep into coastal hydrology, forest ecology and wildfire science with striking visual urgency. Guest-curated by Chloe Dye Sherpe, the exhibition includes a diversity of materials and practices. A crinkly silver survival suit, a mixed-media panel filled with vibrant marine flora, and a red neon fire line cutting through a charred forest create compelling juxtapositions for regional dialogue. monamuseum.org
