All That You Change Changes You: Laura St. Pierre
Kamloops Art Gallery, Kamloops, BC - To Jan 9, 2027
Taking its title from the opening of Octavia Butler’s 1993 novel Parable of the Sower, this exhibition brings together work made by Laura St. Pierre over the past decade, all of it focused on an environmentally destabilized future transformed by loss and innovation. A notable work is Spectral Garden II (2018), a video installation that has viewers immersed in projections of a slowly rotating, submerged makeshift garden lit by off-screen flames. Accompanying the garden are photographs of other “specimens” and detritus collected by “The Scavenger.” kag.bc.ca
