Natalie Gerber: Load

Natalie Gerber’s site-specific installation explores metamorphosis and cycles of becoming by combining ceramics and textiles to examine weight, gravity, texture and duration. On the floor, slip-cast ceramic forms suggest eggs, stones or celestial bodies, their surfaces revealing the gradual deterioration of their casting moulds. Suspended above, a laser-cut sculptural silk lattice expands from two dimensions into a three-dimensional shroud that slowly settles and shifts over time.
