Refuge Canada

In the world today, some 23 million people have fled their home countries and are seeking refuge from war and persecution based on the colour of their skin, their political beliefs, or their cultural, sexual or religious identities. Through oral histories, installations and interactive displays, this exhibition examines Canada’s place in the global refugee crisis and considers this country’s response – not always welcoming – to waves of displaced people arriving on its shores. Organized by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
