Charles Campbell: An Ocean To Livity

Through participatory audio installations and large-scale metal and mixed-media sculptures, internationally acclaimed artist, writer and curator Charles Campbell expands upon metaphors of breath and breathing. At the same time, he evokes the complexities of Black diasporic history and the richness of Black imagination. Central to the exhibition, its curators tell us, is Black Breath Archive, an installation of breath recordings gathered from residents of Nanaimo, Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
