The Shape Of An Echo

Drawn from the gallery’s permanent collection, this exhibition examines the diverse ways in which “land” may be represented in art. Focusing primarily on artists’ responses to the Banff National Park area and also featuring works by past instructors or artists-in-residence at the Banff School of Fine Arts, the show ranges widely across time, medium and cultural perspective. Artists range widely too, from Carl Rungius and Frederick Varley to Takao Tanabe, Rebecca Belmore, Kathy Chenoweth and Jin-me Yoon.
