Heather Hart: Northern Oracle

Complemented by a series of mixed-media drawings, Heather Hart’s rooftop-shaped installation seems to emerge from the floor of the gallery. Visitors may interact with it both physically and contemplatively by climbing onto its exterior or, more symbolically, by entering its attic space and occupying its site-specific lounge. Evoking Black histories and questioning ideas of “home” and “ownership,” the work by this distinguished Brooklyn-based artist also serves as a site for performances, lectures and workshops.
