Allison Collins: Patchwork Dreamscapes
Foster/White Gallery, Seattle, WA - Oct 6 - 29
With an auspicious beginning as an invited fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art shortly after her 1977 graduation from Otis Art Institute, Allison Collins embarked on a career combining elements of abstraction with identifiable landscapes. Her new work blurs divisions between “patchworks” of solid color and traditional horizon-and-field compositions. Included in group shows in New York and Toronto, her colorful canvases were also honored by the US Department of State at the embassy in Bucharest, Romania, in 2018.
