Archipelago – Contemporary Art Of The Salish Sea

This interesting project is the second installment in a cross-border collaboration of artists influenced by living in small island communities on the Salish Sea. The first installment, of six artists from the San Juan Islands, exhibited on Salt Spring Island in April/May. This show features six artists selected from hundreds based in the Southern Gulf Islands. Their work explores traditional stories, the detritus of consumerism, relationships, environmental carelessness, and the destruction of biodiversity through carving, sculpture, weaving, oil painting, photography and textile art.
