The Art Of Dimension: Jesse Brillon With Marlo Wylie Brillon

Indigenous knowledge sharing and the enduring power of Haida carving in both cedar and precious metal are spotlighted in this exhibition. Influenced by Bill Reid, who was a close family friend, Haida-Cree artist Skil Xaaw Jesse Brillon is acclaimed for his accomplished work in copper, gold and silver and his deep knowledge of repoussé, chasing and lost-wax casting. His art is shown here alongside Reid’s and four cedar carvings by Brillon’s niece and protégé Haayłingtso Marlo Wylie Brillon, creating a three-generational line of inspiration and mentorship.
