Up Close & Personal: The Body in Contemporary Art

Whatcom Museum - Lightcatcher Building, Bellingham, WA

Whatcom curator Amy Chaloupka has borrowed heavily from the collection of Driek and Michael Zirinsky for this extensive survey of art that reflects, among other things, heightened awareness of the body in a time of pandemic. Contemporary art luminaries such as Kiki Smith, Olafur Eliasson and Dinh Q. Lê join national and regional artists like Mark Calderon, John Grade and Akio Takamori. We see the “human body through the expressive lens of 60 artists.” Curator tour Feb 11, 1pm
