Paradise Lost: Jazz Keillor & Laura St. Pierre

Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George, BC

The premise behind Paradise Lost is the increasingly contested notion that human beings have dominion over the planet and that other forms—plants, animals, minerals—are secondary. For artists Laura St. Pierre and Jazz Keillor, ecological crisis, hybridity and the shifting boundaries between human and non-human life are points of departure. St. Pierre’s lens-based works and installations explore post-apocalyptic systems, while Keillor’s bird’s-eye landscapes give primacy to trees, allowing them leading roles in what appears to be an unending road to recovery. tworiversgallery.ca
