Fresh from her acclaimed solo exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Korean-born, Vancouver-based artist Jin-me Yoon has created an installation combining photography, video and sound to “explore our collective grappling with the pandemic from a diasporic perspective.” Among the visual and aural devices she uses are Talchum masks associated with a Korean folk dance, evoking feelings of both personal resil- ience and cultural resistance at a time of ongoing isolation, strangeness and threat. Presented as part of Capture Photography Festival.
