Offbeat: Explorations In Clay

The participants in this show of “offbeat” ceramic art – Amelia Butcher, Heather Dahl, Genevieve Dionne, Robin Dupont, Nathalie Paolinelli, Linda Sormin, Cathy Terepocki and Hannah Watkins – push their medium beyond traditional ideas of form and function. From the elegantly geometrical to the outrageously organic, their clay and mixed-media works may experiment with materials and processes, probe issues of consumption, growth and decay, or examine the ways in which anthropology condi- tions our understanding of material culture.
