One thing that distinguishes BIMA from other art museums is the Cynthia Sears Artists’ Book Collection. The museum’s spring exhibition grows out of that core of the permanent collection. Prints, posters, broadsides, artists’ books and other handmade ephemera with social and political implications are the focus of this comprehensive survey. It is more pertinent than ever with the new US administration’s attacks on dissenting media and mainstream news sources. Artists include Mare Blocker and the collective Partners in Print.
