Ongoing Beyond Mysticism: The Modern Northwest. Inspired by the region’s natural beauty and rapidly changing city, this exhibition showcases artists who told the raw story of Seattle in the 20th century. Samantha Yun Wall: What We Leave Behind. The solo exhibition of the 2024 Betty Bowen Award recipient features new works inspired by Korean folklore and the artist’s experience navigating transcultural identity as a Black Korean immigrant. Monochrome: Calder and Tara Donovan. In the third exhibition of the multi-year Calder at SAM initiative celebrating the iconic modern artist, this exhibition explores a connection between the two artists who use monochrome as a lens through which to examine materials, movement and visual perception.
