Gerri York: A Wolf is not a Dog

At the heart of this process-based photo and sculpture exhibition is the shift, the decentring of one form into and out of another. For artist Gerri York, forms range between human and animal, image and object, and organic and artificial. To demonstrate the phenomenon, York begins in the darkroom, where photographic paper is folded into small sculptures and exposed under the light of an enlarger. Once developed, the sculptures are unfolded, digitally enlarged and reconstructed into large-scale objects. Part of the 2026 Capture Photography Festival. thisgallery.org
