Puppets Forsaken: Knock Knock
Deluge Contemporary Art, Victoria, BC - Sep 5 – Oct 4
Puppets Forsaken (Natali Leduc, David Gifford and Dean Louis) is a sculpture/sound collective inspired by Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo, author of the manifesto The Art of Noises (1913). Their principal object is the acoustic noise generator. Designed to “take over rooms and involve audience members,” these generators have been deployed in ravaged old-growth forests, theory symposia, on live radio, and in recital halls, basement shows and galleries, sites “where dissonance is both retro causal as well as an anticipatory abstraction for disrupting the normative.”
