Bonnie Hopper: How We Got Here

Gallery 110, Seattle, WA - Oct 2 – Nov 1

by Matthew Kangas

For her third solo exhibition at Gallery 110, award-winning painter Bonnie Hopper chronicles the 1950s migration of her parents from the Deep South to the Pacific Northwest. Born in Seattle, Hopper studied art at Seattle Central College and joined the Onyx Fine Arts Collective. She brings her own sensibility to oil portraits of family members and landscape scenes. Vibrant colors, richly patterned African fabrics and meticulous glass mosaic backgrounds celebrate the creative legacy of the Second Great Migration.
