To Oct 18 WOOD. A stunning group exhibition featuring artists from coast to coast, each exploring the medium of wood. Featuring artists Peter von Tiesenhausen, Samuel Roy-Bois, Xiaojing Yan, Rita McKeough, Susan Point, Pat Bruderer, Stephen Noyes and Nadia Myre. Styles include traditional birch bark biting, audio/visual installation, sculpture, weaving and carving. Opening Sep 27 Móðurmál/Mother Tongue: Hildur Jónasson explores themes of our relationship to nature at the intersection of the climate crisis, natural phenomena, folklore/mythology and the intangible powers of nature. Jónasson’s Nordic culture of folklore and mythology has a strong influence on her art. Surreal artworks mingle with mythology, acting as a storyteller of the mysteries of the natural world and wild Icelandic landscapes.
