Judy Wapp: Visualchemy

Nelson Museum Archives & Gallery, Nelson, BC - To Jun 22

by Robin Laurence

This retrospective exhibition honours the long life and varied career of visual artist, activist and radio personality Judy Wapp. From her early participation in the mail art movement of the 1970s and ’80s to her embrace of collage as her principal means of expression, Wapp has been an influential presence in the creative life of the West Kootenay region. Through imagery gleaned from the mass media, she makes us aware of the social, political and economic forces that shape our daily lives.
