Founded in 1995, ArtX Contemporary is a gallery at the intersection of contemporary art and global culture. To Sep 19 What’s the Story? Contemporary Narratives of Home, Identity and Connection features Al-Baseer Holly, Eric Chan, Lauren Iida, Periko the Artist, Samantha Yun Wall and Vincent Keele, six Pacific Northwest artists whose work tells stories through the human figure. Opening Oct 1 Fulgencio Lazo presents a new series of vibrant abstract paintings exploring cultural identity and the power of community. Lazo uses his creative practice to celebrate the cultural traditions that sustain his identity as a member of Mexico’s Indigenous Zapotec people, with a particular focus on its traditional music and communal practices.
