Christos Dikeakos: The Collectors (10Th Anniversary Exhibition)

Vancouver’s Christos Dikeakos has enjoyed a long career as a photo-based conceptual artist, community activist and restaurateur. More recently he has devoted himself to researching, visiting and photographing collectors, both local and global. The result is an engaging collection of pictures that recall the Renaissance turn in portraiture, when portraits included their subjects’ possessions, a move that distinguished them from the monolith of class or religious affiliation. Among the highlights, a double portrait of gallerist and collector Uno Langmann.
