David A. Haughton: Two Havens – Paintings of Rebecca Spit & Mackenzie Beach

VISUALSPACE Gallery, Vancouver, BC - Sep 25 – Oct 8

by Michael Turner

The havens in this exhibition are a retreat David Haughton was introduced to during a time of personal crisis some 30 years ago and a retreat his “future second wife” Lyne discovered around the same time while looking to reset from the stresses of emergency medicine. The 37 colourful though at times melancholic paintings are as much a record of these havens as they are a diary of two people whose love for each other is such that their havens could be shared.
