A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Women Painters of Washington Gallery, Seattle, WA - To Oct 3
The exhibition title is borrowed from a newspaper journalist, Arthur Brisbane, who in 1911 lifted it from playwright Henrik Ibsen. Women Painters of Washington is now 95 years old and among the largest artist groups in the state. Their summer quarterly show includes 66 paintings by 24 artists, ranging from sublime landscapes and abstracts to cuddly dog and cat paintings. Standouts are canvases by Agnes C. Lee, Ruby Lindner and Kelly Lyles. Visitors may choose their own favorites.
