Bugera Lamb Fine Art, Edmonton, AB - Sep 25 – Oct 11

by Lissa Robinson

Paint dances across canvases with sudden crescendos, tickling melodies and thundering tones. Exploring the interplay between music and visual art, painter Ernestine Tahedl creates improvisational and abstract works inspired by classical compositions made by greats such as Beethoven, Mozart and Bruckner. Her backgrounds become the stage for colours placed with deliberate and spontaneous brushstrokes ranging from light or heavy to broken, lyrical or splattered. Open to interpretation, Tahedl’s paintings offer a compelling feast for the eyes that reverberates in the soul.
