Portland Japanese Garden, Portland, OR - To Jun 10
Portland and Sapporo have been sister cities since 1959, shortly before the garden was opened to build trust again between World War II enemies the US and Japan. Vision of Place uses photos in two gallery spaces to show off the beauty of Sapporo and its prefecture Hokkaido. Shashin: Photographic Frontiers of Hokkaido presents work from the North Finder, a Hokkaido-based group of photographers, and Quiet Reflections of Hokkaido Winter features serene scenes by Portland-based Sandra Chandler.
