New curator Brian Nigus’ first group exhibition introduces 21 artists from across the US and Canada, along with their quilting, weaving, knitting, punch needling and sculpture. This vivid contemporary art pushes boundaries and asks questions. Standout artists include Kendall Ross of Oklahoma City, whose knitwear challenges the sexism of the art/craft divide, and Liv Aanrud, who creates large-scale, lavishly detailed portraits of women with needle punch, a technique originally used in rug hooking.
