The Bruin Inn: 70 Years Of St. Albert’s Social Life

Musée Héritage Museum, St. Albert, AB - Apr 12 - Aug 21

by Robin Laurence

Built in 1929, the Bruin Inn stood for 70 years in a prime location in St. Albert, a city originally settled as a Métis community and now part of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. The Bruin Inn hosted recreational visitors drawn to Big Lake and the Sturgeon River as well as Saturday-night crowds who lined up, sometimes in the hundreds, to enjoy its beer room. Calling up old times, this exhibition brings together furniture, photographs, signage and memorabilia.
