WHAT ARE OUR SUPPORTS?
WHAT ARE OUR SUPPORTS? is an anthology of essays and images documenting and expanding upon a series of artists’ projects that took place in a downtown Vancouver park in 2018. Curated by Joni Low and situated in and around a telephone booth–like structure made by Germaine Koh, the projects responded to then-current conditions of “social, biopolitical, environmental and economic precarity” – now intensified by the ongoing global pandemic and climate crises. Low writes that the series drew inspiration from Céline Condorelli’s Support Structures project and publication, “specifically, the need for greater discourse around the supports that facilitate the making and representation of space for art.” Co-published by Information Office, Doryphore Curators Society, Richmond Art Gallery and Art Metropole.
