Kaaganhlxa—Home Safe

Curated by Gid Kuuyas Collison-Robertson and Kaw Kay James Williams, KaaGanhlxa, or Home Safe, features a selection of Haida cultural belongings repatriated since 2020, on display in the museum’s Sky Gallery. It comes on the heels of the museum’s partnership with the Haida Repatriation Committee to host a two-day reburial for the remains of repatriated Ancestors in January. The community also held a KaaGanhlxa ceremony with repatriated Haida belongings sourced from different institutions and private homes. A selection of donated contemporary Haida artworks will go on display in the museum’s temporary Ocean Gallery in July. 2026 marks the Haida Gwaii Museum’s 50th anniversary. haidagwaiimuseum.ca
