Sep 4-20 Lance Olsen presents a collection of recent solo works exploring the present moment through painting and mixed media. Olsen invites the viewer to reflect on the moment that we all inhabit known collectively as Now–the only moment in which we exist–and view each piece as a diary of his daily thinking. Opening reception: Sep 4, 7-9 pm. Oct 2-18 Seven Embury: The Standard examines the pressures surrounding male body image and the ways society shapes ideals of masculinity through pop culture and social media. Through painting and sound, Embury explores how external voices and cultural scripts impose themselves on the body, creating tension between acceptance and self-worth. Opening reception: Oct 2, 7-9 pm.
