Sep 9-24 Phyllis Schwartz and Edward Peck: Aperion. To express the vastness of the landscape and the interconnectedness of people’s lives, the artwork is a mix of contrasting sizes. Peck features large-scale photographs juxtaposed with smaller vignettes, while Schwartz’s landscapes highlight their dependence on natural forces in their environment. Opening: Sep 8, 6-8pm. Oct 7-22 Dylan Cram: The Filmic Eye. Derived from an ongoing series, Crams paintings depict the phenomenon of self-narrativization as it pertains to screen identity and the changing face of fame. The work appropriates aesthetics derived from the history of painting, film, and media to problematize the nature of portraiture. Opening: Oct 6, 7-9pm.
