Apr 4-19 Adoptee Artists Collective: Into The Fold hopes to open a conversation on adoption, a topic that has historically been draped in shame, secrecy and lies. Three adoptees articulate concepts of belonging, attachment and identity through poems, sculptures, prints and drawings. From a shared lexicon of form, gesture and imagery Jessie Demers, Victoria Edgarr, and Beth Kope present works that draw meaning from the hidden folds of their histories. Opening reception: Apr 3rd, 7-9pm. May 2-17 Heather Smith: Open Planes examines the imagery of touch and interpersonal exchange. Working through drawing, painting and installation, the work explores how bodies meet and negotiate one another across surfaces. Opening reception: May 1, 7-9pm.
