To May 2 Marian Penner Bancroft: Long Story reflects the artist’s ongoing engagement with complex questions addressable through a careful examination of visual traces of human activity with reference to the natural world, inviting viewers to consider their own stories in relationship to the spaces they inhabit. Opening May 20 Dreamers: The Organic Art of Revery Architecture explores the tension: What is the value of dreams in a profit-driven world of rational needs? The show proposes that the aesthetic imagination enriches our built environment not only for individual end-users, but for the wider public. The studio is now part of a new West Coast paradigm that reasserts the value of art at the heart of architecture.
