Opening May 9 Napoleon: Art, Money and War explores how Napoleon Bonaparte used money, medals, art and official imagery to finance conquest, reward loyalty and shape the political memory of his empire. Curated by Marina Fischer. Opening May 15 Weaving Home: Carpets of SW Iran assembles textiles woven by Qashqa’i, Afshar, Khamseh and other tribal weavers from Nickle Galleries permanent collection. Colourful and densely patterned, they offer spaces for care, hope and dreams. Curated by Michele Hardy. Opening June 1 Her Own Way: A Selection of Women Artists in the Nickle Collection draws out artworks highlighting women artists who were producing work in the post-war era between 1950 and 1979. Curated by Jenelle Pasiechnik.
