Jun 18-Aug 1 Arjun Lal: Shrines and Rituals intersects themes of contemporary queer pop culture, Indian iconographies, Lal’s lived experiences and future fantasies. It is a speculation on the post-colonial world-building through mediums of sculpture, performance, photography and textiles. grunt gallery offers exhibitions, special projects and free public programming with a focus on practices and perspectives that have questioned established values in contemporary art production. Since the early 1990s, we are defined by our working relationships with Indigenous, racialized, queer/LGBTQIA+ and Two-Spirit arts communities. Since 2020, we have undertaken an organization-wide commitment to accessibility, in collaboration with d/Disabled+ communities. grunt strives to remain self-reflexive while upholding the integrity and inherent value of artists and their work.
