Luminous Journey: The Art of Maria Frank Abrams
Cascadia Art Museum, Edmonds, WA - To Jul 10
Following a 2015 posthumous exhibition at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, Maria Frank Abrams’ retrospective at Cascadia Art Museum shows several facets of her long career. Much attention has been paid to her role as survivor, but it is important to credit her achievements once she emigrated to attend the University of Washington in 1948. The horror of World War II is submerged here in pictures of felicitous beauty and color, covering the entire spectrum of imagery from landscapes to abstraction.
