Arreguín: Painter From The New World
Published to accompany the recent exhibition at the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner, WA. Alfredo Arreguín (b. 1935) is one of the most accomplished Latino artists in the nation. During his long career he has rendered historic and mythological figures, activists and animal spirits in an authentic modernist style that draws on his Mexican American heritage. Written by Matthew Kangas, the catalog places Arreguín’s masterworks in the context of Europe-an styles like Cubism, Surrealism and geometric abstraction. The vibrant monograph has full-page color plates of all the mesmerizing artworks in the exhibition.
