Bonifacho Celebration 2013–2022

Surveys six series of paintings and assemblages undertaken during the past decade by this senior Vancouver artist. Having survived a childhood in war-torn Belgrade, in what is now Serbia, Bonifacho creates abstract paintings that reflect his intellectual and emotional responses to a range of social, political and environmental issues. Signs, symbols, letters and words are often laid out in grid formations or explode into clouds of energy and angst. Over 200 works are reproduced in this hefty, handsomely produced book, which includes an introduction by the artist and essays by Kevin Griffin, Rosalin Te Omra and Alia Tracy.
