THE CUBE
Ongoing Bree Apperley: Slug Eggs references arte povera and explores the impact of technology on society, feminine expression in a capitalist system and the compromised nature of modern life. To May 9 Rajni Perera: Futures draws on diverse traditions to look ahead to an uncertain future threatened by climate change and social inequities. Opening May 30 Dancing through to the other side holds space for dance and the body through immersive video and sound experiences. Curated by Charo Neville. Opening May 16 Nasim Pirhadi: The Pit transforms The Cube to resemble a zurkhaneh (literally, “house of strength”), a traditional Iranian gym. Defying tradition, forbidding admittance to the zurkhaneh by women and non-Muslims, Pirhadi’s space is inclusive to all.
