This group show from Schnitzer’s deep contemporary collection looks at the way 18 contemporary artists use color to question institutions, beliefs and expectations. The show asks whether traditionally marginalized groups can reclaim color. Derrick Adams’ Eye Candy (2022) shows a Black man wearing brightly colored leotards while Caitlin Cherry’s Fruit Molotov Cocktail (2017) depicts a figure against a blazing home. Artists to note include Jenny Holzer, Anish Kapoor, James Lavadour and Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds.
