Jun 19-Aug 1 Abstractions is a members exhibition featuring abstract works by 24 local artists. Through 2D and 3D practices, artists explore form, mark-making and layering, highlighting the diversity of North Van Arts’ membership. Opening reception: Jun 18. Opening Aug 14 Layered Landscapes features Rebecca Bayer, Jennifer Tazewell Mawby, Mohadese Mohaved and Biliana Velkova. The exhibition considers landscapes as vessels for memory, imagination and cultural inheritance, framing terrain as a living archive shaped by ecology, power, mythology, technology and history. Working across painting, drawing and sculpture, it blurs boundaries between reality and myth, past and present, place and psyche, exploring belonging and identity in contemporary contexts.
