Sally Ketcham: Shards, Segments and Ruminations
Gallery 110, Seattle, WA - Nov 7 – 30
Sally Ketcham’s exhibition of painting and mixed-media collage works is rooted in the freedom of space (Seattle’s beaches) and the constraints of time (the recent pandemic). As always, the artist’s compositional skills are foremost, alluding as much to contorted landscapes as to the bodies that negotiate them. Twice Baked (2024) suggests a still life, though we feel its open valley, its body’s screaming mouth. The mixed-media Leaked (2023) evokes an expressive union of solar photography and the posters of Alexander Rodchenko.
