Knowledge Made Concrete: 100 Years of Teaching and Collecting
Illingworth Kerr Gallery, Calgary, AB - To Mar 8
100 Years of Teaching and Collecting celebrates the century-long partnership between Alberta University of the Arts and the Art Gallery of Alberta. Inspired by J.W.G. Macdonald’s idea of art as “knowledge made concrete,” the exhibition showcases works from the AGA’s Permanent Collection and features alumni, faculty and recent graduates. Highlighting the evolution of Alberta’s artistic landscape, the show, curated by Tak Pham and Lindsey Sharman, reflects on how artists address societal challenges through diverse mediums. It also symbolizes a shared legacy of creativity and cultural growth.
