Knowledge Within: Treasures Of The Northwest Coast

KNOWLEDGE WITHIN: TREASURES OF THE NORTHWEST COAST spotlights 17 sites from Alaska to southern BC where collections of Northwest Coast Indigenous material culture are housed. One of this book’s aims is to draw attention to museums, galleries and cultural centres beyond larger and better-known institutions in Vancouver and Victoria. Each chapter is written by one or more people connected with a designated venue, bringing fresh insights to the Indigenous belongings in their care and challenging “canonical” approaches to their presentation and interpretation.
