A Future For Memory: Art And Life After The Great East Japan Earth Quake
A FUTURE FOR MEMORY: ART AND LIFE AFTER THE GREAT EAST JAPAN EARTH QUAKE is the catalogue to the exhibition at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC (to Sep 5). It examines the entwined processes of memory, history and recovery in the decade since the triple disaster of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan on March 11, 2011, and the devastating tsunami and nuclear power plant meltdown that followed. A heroic story emerges through photographs, artworks and accounts by the show’s many contributors.
