Alan Lau | Walks Along the Kamogawa: The Kyoto Series – Part I

The distinguished Chinese American artist, poet, painter and printmaker Alan Lau focuses on his recent stay in Old Kyoto. The large-scale sumi-e paintings are highly colored and filled with weather storms of scattered brushwork, pigmented dots and landscape references that combine in a collective reminiscence of the disappearing urbanscape of Japan’s original royal capital.
