To Oct 5 Capturing the Moment: Terrie Hancock Mangat. Each quilt here is comprised of a myriad of materials, ranging from pearls to plastic baby dolls. Through the power of pattern, Mangat achieves a scale so large that the viewer feels physically encompassed by the story she tells. To Oct 26 Long Story Short: Bridget Daly. Whimsical, intricate and dream-like yarn paintings inspired by Daly’s Grandmother, who passed on her values through fairy-tale narratives suffused with religious symbolism. Opening Sep 10 Handheld Dreams: Julian Jamaal Jones explores small-scale works embodying rest, color, and the power of intimacy. Rooted in the idea of Black life as leisure and repose, the exhibition frames rest not as an indulgence but as a radical act.
