Eva Isaksen overlooks her garden in winter. As it lies dormant in muted, earthy tones, she studies lines of stalks and stems–fragmented and sparse. These observations are only a starting point. Her compositions develop and grow complex. Thin papers are printed, painted, and drawn on, then cut, rearranged and collaged onto canvas. Through this organic process, Isaksen’s unique visual language emerges.
