Opening Sep 24 One hundred more is an exhibition and residency with dancer and visual artist Justine A. Chambers. The project builds on the iterative nature of One hundred more (2024), originally conceived by Chambers and Laurie Young as a live performance in 2019 and later reimagined by Chambers as a video installation for the 2024 Toronto Biennial of Art. In this choreographic work, Chambers and Young–both women of colour and mothers–centre minor gestures as modes of resistance, drawing on influences from contemporary social movements including Black Lives Matter. Their collaboration examines how subtle, embodied actions can shift dominant systems of value by engaging the body as a site of political, social and physical meaning.
