A contemporary art centre dedicated to lens-based practices, presenting exhibitions and public programs that explore photography and visual culture. The gallery supports emerging, mid-career, and established artists while fostering dialogue around contemporary photographic practices. Gallery 881 works closely with its in-house production partner, PrintMaker Studio. Apr 1-30 Another Room: Salon des Refusés is a month-long photography festival featuring over 100 artists and public programming throughout April. Full programming schedule online. Opening reception: Apr 2, 6pm-12am. Opening May 6 Vapes & Butts: Michelle Leone Huisman. Using historic palladium-over-gum bichromate printing, discarded cigarette butts and vape remnants become luminous images reflecting on smoking culture, waste and environmental residue. Opening reception: May 7, 6-9pm. Artist talk: May 23, 2-3pm.
